I picked this model due to so many good YouTube reviews from channels that I trust and who know their stuff for leatherwork and heritage footwear. The quality, value, good range of available models, and price are all huge pros. I’m confident that I’ll really like these Task dress shoes in raven black and saddle tan with the veg tan insoles, but I have to take 2 stars off an otherwise great review for the lack of a midsole, when both the website and emails with customer support told me that they would have a 10 oz (4mm) midsole.
Pros: the leather feels like good quality in the uppers, lining, and welt. One YouTuber visited Indian bookmakers recently and said that Craft n Glory are actually hand lasted + welted instead of just Goodyear welted as advertised. They’re underselling themselves. That’s incredible for this price especially with treating their workers well from the footage I’ve seen. The color of the black and saddle tan leathers looks good and match up with my expectations from the pictures on the website. I assume that the vintage brown has more variation or pull up.
The price for their lineup including the premium heritage line looks crazy compared to other makers available in the USA. I don’t think that I can find an equal value for quality vs price. Even if there are 1-2 makers that come close, this selection of options dwarfs them. It’s very impressive and makes me want to try 1-3 other models at some point like the Monkey boot, engineer, and dress casual moc shoes. Their waxed canvas and leather bags are interesting to me too.
I had one set of shoes come in too narrow, so I contacted customer support to make sure that my second pair would fit. I didn’t want to waste anyone’s hard work or my money. Since they have a no refund, return, or cancellation policy, getting the fit right is even more important. I got quick responses in English and got what I wanted quickly. I was able to send in sketches of my feet and pictures of the ways the first shoes weren’t fitting to make sure we got it right. My only complaint there was that I was promised in writing and on the website that there would be a midsole. There isn’t one. I would’ve chosen the 6 in boot model for my preferences if I had known that.
They do take a while to make and ship from India to the USA. There is limited tracking info thru DHL until they are basically a few days out from you. Considering that these are hand made not mass produced, the wait time was incredibly reasonable. I’ve waited 4 months for another maker’s boots before, and the 1-1.5 months for these was relatively lightning speed. With my delay in asking for the second pair to fit my foot sketches instead of the standard size, that 1.5 month time is even more impressive. I’m very happy there
Cons: I measured the leather and cannot find any way that there is a 7 oz (3mm) split reverse welt and a 10 oz (4mm) thick midsole between the cork and the outsole. I can see the split where the ends of the welt were brought together all the way through that leather on the sides of all 4 shoes. The website made this claim when I ordered, when I contacted customer support, and after I received my shoes. I picked this model instead of my preferred boot version for this midsole that was previously removed from the web site for the 6 in boot variant.
Being told one thing and sold another is a big bummer for me, and I have to take 2 stars off. There’s no refund or returns allowed to correct this even if I believed that it would be done. Maybe their craftspeople are more focused on the newly dropped heritage premium line that came out while I was waiting for my shoes, or maybe they call the permanent leather insole the same as a midsole with some lost in translation business going on? Either way customers should be aware of that when making a decision.
Overall, I’m sure that I’ll like these as dress shoes for office work. The new fit with sketches of my feet do fit amazingly well so far even before much breaking in. Their value and selection is insanely good. Their price and customer service and lead times are good. Their product descriptions in English are suspect or inaccurate at best. Maybe there is now more effort put into their premium heritage line, which I probably will try out at some point. Being able to resole these but having to pay to add a midsole when I get to that point is a mixed bag of feeling good and let down by this purchase.
Don't have the finance to buy bespoke boots at the moment, even if my feets need some special attention. I have quite wide feet by toe base but slimmer toe box, usually requiring bigger sizes with downside of too much space in length when the wide is good. I contacted CG and send them a sketch of my feets and left the size decision to them. Really nice dialogue and quick response via mail, great customer care!
Couple weeks after order, the boots arrived to Sweden where I live. These boots fitted like a dream! Both the length and width were perfect in size, it took some days for the hard stiff leather to soften. I used thick hiking socks in the breaking in phase avoiding chafing and changed gradually to my ordinary socks. After braking in period, the boots fitted just like if they were made for my feets!
The quality and finish is impressive for it's price, both the material and craft. Definitely compabable to my friend's Nick's boots for 690 USD! The stiching on upper parts are well aligned and the hand stiched soles have just minor unevenness which reinforces the impression of handcraft.
I was worried about the heel screws other customer have complaind about, but CG has now changed to traditional nail instead. No issue anymore!
I really recommed this brand and the Ranger Boots, I will defenetly buy again!
The product looks good, but some areas need improvement, one of which is DELIVERY. Since this is a high-quality product, you should focus on good delivery options to complement it. The bag that I received had a little crack in it because of bending, and the strap, although adjustable, still is long to carry on one shoulder. Please look into this design.
Totally premium n thick leather jacket
This is full grain of leather
First time i see this kind of leather
Looks like something that I can pass on to my son. Very sturdy. Only top grain leather. No other material used
1. It had power of clarity.
2. It had good smells
3.It gives comfort
4. It is peace to ware able...
I was really for a boot like this for a really long time. But most of good quality boots were of foreign brands and had to be imported thus incurring taxes equal to the cost of the boots. 🤣
One day I saw craft and glory advertising and it clicked me that this could be it. I did a lot of research and saw almost all the reviews of the company making myself aware of what’s the company all about. I am really happy to have bought this boots and looking forward to be a loyal customer of this brand and will definitely buy the jacket next.
About the boots - just amazing. I didn’t regret at all. I even took the risk of customisation and it has come out awesome. Good year welting looks premium. Now waiting to wear the boots down and have fun with it.
I really liked the boots when they arrived but when I went to place my foot into the right boot I felt a sharp cutting pain and realized that the metal on the eyelets wasn’t secured properly and had cut my foot I really wanted to love these boots but you can tell that the boot was rushed as this seems to be a problem on most of the eyelets
I am still a rookie in the world of Goodyear Welted boots, so I was looking for a way in without having to sell a kidney. I followed C&G social media for a few months so I already had them in my radar, and then I found out they had a discount promotion going so I finally pulled the trigger. This is a beautiful pair of rugged leather boots, strongly built yet snug on your feet
These boots are very sturdy, gusseted tongue, thick sole and the best part is that they do a 8.5 size!
The vintage Brown is a beauty.
I'm ready to explore, with the Monkey Explorer boots ON...
The shoes are very well constructed and fit true to size. The leather is soft and the shoes have an amazing appeal. It did take some time to deliver but worth the wait.
1. These boots run smaller than USA Boots. I am an 11 EE in Red Wing Iron Rangers & Classic Mocs and also an 11 EE in Whites Springdales. I purchased this in an 11 1/2 EE and they fit perfect.
2. The leather is much thicker & stiffer than I expected. They will take a bit to break-in.
3. I would purchase again!
4. Yes, I like leather laces!
Craft & Glory’s Ranger Boots are a standout, offering a mix of traditional craftsmanship and modern appeal. This review provides an in-depth look at the pros and cons of these boots to help you understand their value, durability, and style.
Pros:
Exceptional Quality Full-Grain Leather
The Ranger Boots are made from high-quality full-grain leather, known for its durability, rich texture, and aging characteristics. This type of leather is the top layer of the hide, meaning it’s the strongest and most durable. Over time, it will develop a beautiful patina, giving each pair a unique look and making them even more visually appealing with wear.
Impressive Build Quality
One of the standout features of the Ranger Boots is their exceptional build quality. From the smooth finish of the leather to the sturdiness of the soles, every component feels solid and well-made. The boots are designed to last for years, even with frequent use. Whether you wear them for hiking, casual outings, or just to add a rugged flair to your wardrobe, these boots will hold up.
Superior Stitching and Craftsmanship
The stitching on the Ranger Boots is clean, tight, and uniform, demonstrating the brand's commitment to craftsmanship. The leather panels are sewn together with precision, ensuring a robust construction that contributes to their overall durability. The attention to detail in the stitching and construction is evident, making these boots a testament to high-quality shoemaking.
Detailed Packaging
Craft & Glory goes above and beyond in terms of presentation, offering detailed packaging that makes unboxing an enjoyable experience. Whether you’re gifting the boots or treating yourself, the packaging shows the brand’s dedication to creating an exceptional customer experience. This thoughtful touch elevates the feeling of receiving a high-end product.
Vintage Tan Brown Color
The vintage tan brown color of these boots is absolutely stunning. It's a versatile shade that pairs well with a variety of outfits, from casual to slightly more formal styles. The color is deep and rich, giving the boots a classic look that exudes rugged sophistication. The natural look of the leather, combined with the tan shade, ensures that the boots will match a wide range of attire and age gracefully over time.
Cons:
Quality of Brass Used Could Be Better
While the boots feature brass elements like eyelets and laces, the quality of the brass could be improved. The finish on the brass components doesn’t quite match the high-quality leather and stitching in terms of durability and finish. Over time, the brass may tarnish or show signs of wear more easily than the leather, which could impact the boots' overall aesthetic.
Wide Toe Area – Not Ideal for Smaller Feet
The Ranger Boots are built with a slightly larger toe box, which offers comfort and a more relaxed fit for people with medium to wide feet. However, if you have smaller feet, you may find the toe area too roomy. This might affect the overall fit and comfort, especially for those who prefer a more snug and form-fitting boot.
Goodyear Welt and Sole Stitching Wear
The boots feature a Goodyear welt construction, which is a mark of quality and durability. However, while this method is excellent for long-term use and provides water resistance, the stitching around the lugs on the sole may wear out after repeated use. This is due to the constant contact with the ground as you walk, which might cause the stitching to rub and deteriorate over time. Although the Goodyear welt itself is robust, this detail on the sole could pose a concern for long-term durability.
Final Thoughts:
The Craft & Glory Ranger Boots are a superb blend of timeless style, craftsmanship, and functionality. The quality full-grain leather, excellent build, and attention to detail make them a great investment for anyone looking for a durable and stylish pair of boots. They shine in terms of their aesthetics, comfort, and craftsmanship, making them a standout in the premium footwear market.
However, potential buyers should be mindful of the brass quality, the roomy toe box if they have smaller feet, and the possibility of wear on the sole stitching. That said, these cons are relatively minor compared to the overall high quality and performance of the boots. If you’re in search of a pair of boots that offer both style and substance, the Craft & Glory Ranger Boots are a highly recommended choice.
My wife got them for me for my birthday last year. It's been a year.
This is the only way I know of judging good boots. Time. They are incredibly comfortable, I've spent entire days walking around in them. I've trecked in them, and I've gone to shopping in them. They've handled all of the abuse well. They look great. Maintenance wise; if they look too dry, I'd use a leather lotion. And I've washed them twice with a saddle soap. The pictures are, after the "yearly Maintenance." (Involved both of those things)
Happy with the purchase. Hopefully I'll remember to put out yearly reviews. And folks over at Craft and Glory keep making excellent, long lasting products.
Unboxing these boots was a ‘wow’ moment! After nearly two weeks of daily wear, they’re incredibly comfortable, with top-notch quality. Highly recommend them to anyone seeking a rugged and durable design.
It's been a week of continuous wear and they are breaking in nicely. I had opted for the leather footbed (which you need to order as extra) and it's slightly taking the shape of my feet. The upper leather is gorgeous and has nice grains on it - hoping it would develop a great patina with wear. The sizing I had opted for initially was UK 7.5 as per their size chart, but turned out to be too small. The C&G support was great and helped me with the exchange for a size 9 which fits great. I do wish it came with mini lugs rather than commando soles, but that I can replace at the time of resoling.
Impressive jacket , must buy for leather jacket lovers. The fit and quality is just amazing.
I am in the process of braking these beautiful shoes in.
First impression: We'll made
My feet need to get used to the shoe while the boot needs to get used to my feet.
I highly recommend this boot.
I place another order.
I’ve been using the Berlin backpack from Craft and Glory for the past 11 months, and it has proven to be a reliable and stylish companion for both office and travel needs. Crafted from high-quality leather, the bag has developed a rich patina and a beautiful sheen over time, adding character and individuality to its appearance.
The design strikes a perfect balance between practicality and elegance. It comfortably holds my daily essentials, including a laptop, chargers, documents, and personal items, all while maintaining a compact and professional look.
What stands out most is its durability. This backpack has endured long commutes, air travel, and a variety of weather conditions, yet it has only gotten better with use. The sturdy straps and zippers have held up exceptionally well, and the leather feels even more supple now than when it was new.
Overall, the Berlin backpack has exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and longevity. And it’s quite affordable too- I grabbed it at INR 8,499. If you’re looking for a leather bag that ages gracefully and stands the test of time, this is an excellent investment.
This Adventure briefcase is one of the best bags I have ever seen
The waxed canvas is thick and has a nice vintage shade
They are not cutting corners anywhere or trying to save leather
The shoulder strap is thick and long
The product is as shown in the pictures. Infact the pictures couldnt capture the quality of this bag
You have to hold it in hand to understand its quality
I found a few crooked stitches here and there but Im nitpicking and can be ignore
Overall I am 100% satisfied with the product and will get more products from them
I am glad that these guys are making these excellent leather products in India
The Legacy belt in saddle tan when paired with a nice selvedge jean makes a subtle statement. The buckle is not the bigger than life style like cowboy belts but still gives off a western heritage workwear inspired look that is different than commonly seen. The color of the buckle is golden and not copper as shown in the site, but that's okay. The leather is thick and has a deep brown hue, that is bit darker than their saddle brown boots, but at angles gives off a nice reddish brown, and looks beautiful with that two tone. It's pretty wide, so it would be a bit tight for the chino/dress pant belt loops. The leather, I felt was a bit dry when received, so I applied conditioner and now it looks great and feels very supple.
